Unseen Reality

Unseen Reality, a Zine created in 2018, was prompted by an assignment to respectfully attempt to share the horrific reality of slavery through artwork that imitated and drew inspiration from individuals with greater wisdom and experience.

Sai Samhith Kambampati is a 24-year-old aspiring physician who has always been passionate about social causes and environmental activism. Having immigrated from India to the US in 2005, he immediately saw what makes the latter such a special country- everyone has a voice and can speak up on issues affecting their community. As an undergraduate student at UCLA, he was inspired by an Art & Trauma honors course that he took, where he discovered how he could combine two of his life-long interests- art, and storytelling, to express his views on the world. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, whether it be hiking, kayaking, playing tennis, or resting under a tree, thinking of a new story to write!

Amy Junus graduated with a Psychobiology BS degree from UCLA, where she participated in the Art & Trauma honors course. She is currently continuing her education in New York City.
