Morning’s Due

By Michaelangelo Davis aka MSAJID

So soon you left

Directly after you I ran

At first, I stood midst the

Morning’s dew

It seemed to embrace me.

I felt it’s chill for I had fallen.

I knew mourning was due.

Upon noon

Sweat rolled like glass pebbles

Upon a silk surface.

Time scurried, with each

Shattering pebble

Blown by the wind,

to the ground.

Evening’s moon

lit the sparkled

glass.  Midst them lay a figure

glistening in the light; shattered, as well.

Shattered memories remain of what was

another day.

In the night glowed a light,

it, too, preyed upon by thieves of sight.

From black to blue,

as morning’s do.
